While JFJ is pissing abroad vii.ane a year on Hal Gill and Pavel Kubina…
Leetch is even so out in that location…..
I wouldn't accept spent six mil per for Blake, he's 36 and his all-time years are behind him, for the money the Leafs spent today they but bolstered their blueline big fourth dimension.
The Leafs may take one of the best blue lines in the conference after all is said and done.
Not shocked at all, its e'er fun to go dwelling over again.
YES!!!! I am a huge Kings fan and I am and then excited to have Blake back. I was really upset when the Kings went from virtually having Chara to having him sign with the Bruins in similar five seconds, just at present I couldn't behappier. When I think nearly it nosotros basically just got a quondam Rex who can still hitting and tin score as proficient if not better than Chara plus we salve an extra one.v 1000000 a year.
Thanks Dean Lombardi, all we need now is Elias and a #ane goalie and we are set.
Kubina was a skillful pick up, just Gill won't eternalize anything but fustration!! Just hope he plays with McCabe, Kaberle, or Kubina then they tin can cover his mistakes!!
lol the guy said blakes best years are behind him. you didnt see him play afterwards the all star break then did ya?
With $17M committed at present to four defensemen, I don't encounter JFJ bringing in whatever more than large proper name dmen. And although their D is improved, I yet don't think they're one of the best in the conference. I don't know much most Kubina, but his numbers imply he isn't that great defensively, some other McCabe with less offense information technology seems to me. And from what Bruins fans accept been maxim, Gill doesn't sound like he's very well-suited to the new NHL, simply a very large pylon. I could be incorrect, simply isn't Kubina making more Kaberle with this new bargain? That would mean the Leafs best defenseman is getting paid every bit if he were the squad's number three defenseman.
Who knows, it could all work out for you lot, only honestly the Leafs all the same don't worry me very much.
there must be a reason why Gill went for two.3 mil instead of 1.3, other teams wanted him, not for his offensive prowess merely for his size and concrete nature. he was a -4 on a terrible team, if he can exist insulated i'm sure he volition exist a decent serviceable defensive physical defenseman.
I don't know what Lombardi is thinking.
Blake is horrible in his own end and famous for coughing upward the puck in the corners nether the faintest corporeality of pressure. He's also quite old and, obviously, very expensive.
He's not what the Kings need.
Philly's Gonna take a become d i think but the demand to rid them selves of Hatcher and Rathje. then they would have Joni Pitkanen Lars Jonnson Nolan Baumgartner Dennis Gautheir. then they could add Kuba or Salei
Then who will embrace up their mistakes????
Gauthier is a cheap shotting little bastard!
Everything is ever negative when you're a cheesey habs fan that hates the leafs isn't it?
That is only it, Gill does not play up to his size. He is not even close to a concrete defenseman. As for what he was paid….. sounds like a lot of teams are over paying a petty.
I honestly wish you lot luck.
hmmmmmmmmmm soo why was he ranked as one of the best defenseman(by man newspapers and sports casters) afterwards the olympic break? ya a good solid veteran presence you dont demand that on any team.
In one case Blake got going in the 2d half of the year, he was one of the better defensemen in the league. He was terrible in the first one-half of the season, but he was a different player after the Olympics. He needed his adjustment catamenia to the new mode of play. Once they started leaning on him on the PK, he started to answer.
Information technology looks like he is back to finish his career in LA. The Leopold trade was definitely done in necessity in hindsight since it doesn't look like Colorado thought they could resign him. Leopold is a nice defenseman, and I retrieve he will get better as he matures, but Blake is a big loss for them. He was their touch blueliner. I think he'll wait better next year aslope his old embrace human being, Norstrom.
The Blake of the 2d half of last year would be worth 6 mils a year. Playing with Norstrom next twelvemonth will really assistance him. Leetch is going to be request more the Leafs tin give him. And he is breaking down. Their top 4 is fine right at present as it is.
it's crazy, just you're wrong- blake is intelligent and physically superior to the majority of the nhl. he's in his prime.
ha ha hal gill is gone
ha ha physical defenseman boy if leaf fans retrieve gill will be physical they are in for a suprise
his size means cipher because he does non use it
leaf fans have fun with gill
i guess we shouldn't boo him whenever he touches the puck when he plays in LA now…………
glad to have him back, a litte more veteran prescence on the blueline volition help bring along our younger players
things are finally looking upwardly
